Our response to: Regulating TPIs in the retail energy market

We argue that the TPI Code of Practice introduced through the REC can support progress towards direct regulation of the sector or offer consumer protections on an interim basis while direct regulation is developed. While the CoP currently focuses on energy brokers and similar intermediaries, we suggest extending this approach to other non-traditional market participants, such as heat pump installers, who are critical to the sector’s decarbonisation.
