Meet Lindsay – our new Senior Analyst

Lindsay joined our Operations team in February and brings over ten years of energy industry experience to RECCo. We sat down with her to discuss what attracted her to RECCo, her past experience, and her responsibilities as part of our team.

Hi Lindsay, welcome to RECCo! First of all, can you tell us a little about you?

Thank you! I’ve received a really warm welcome from everyone at RECCo; I’m really excited to be joining the team.

I’ve been working in Energy for over 10 years now, which still seems crazy to say, as it’s gone by in the blink of an eye. During that time, I’ve worked for a number of energy suppliers, including a small renewable energy supplier (LoCO2 Energy), a medium-sized Smart Pre-Payment meter specialist supplier (Utilita Energy), and a large supplier who utilises technology to advance UK renewables (Octopus Energy). I also worked for Gemserv on the delivery of code manager services.

What will you be responsible for at RECCo?

As part of the Operations team, I will be responsible for managing the delivery and continuous improvement of the REC Code Manager Services. I have gained a breadth of experience and insight into the challenges of operating in the energy market from a variety of supplier perspectives, which I believe will be invaluable in my role at RECCo.

What attracted you to RECCo?

I was very supportive of the consolidation of the legacy arrangements, which led to the creation of the REC – specifically, the introduction of RECCo’s mission to deliver positive consumer outcomes via innovation and competition. This aligns with my values, and I admire the addition of this to their mission statement.

How can we deliver great service to market participants and improve areas of the Code Manager service?

I believe that to deliver great service to market participants, RECCo, its service providers, and industry stakeholders need to work openly and cohesively, utilizing feedback and insights to assist with identifying and delivering continual improvements.

I think it’s really important that RECCo has a strong understanding of the effectiveness of the Code Manager Service. As the energy industry continues to evolve, so should the REC to reflect the needs of market participants and consumers in an ever-changing landscape.

We published our final Strategy and Forward Work Plan last week, covering the next three years. What projects are you most eager to see progress on?

There are many areas within the forward work plan that I am interested in! But I’d say that, having come most recently from a role within a supplier business, I would like to see progress within the theft space, especially the proposal for the theft data hub and analytics.

Thanks, Lindsay, and welcome to the team again!
