Webinar Recap: Introducing Our Draft Forward Work Plan & Budget

Our recent webinar on 29th January, led by members of our Executive Team, provided a detailed look at RECCo’s draft Forward Work Plan and Budget for 2025-2028. Thank you to everyone who attended. In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the key insights shared during the session.

Key Highlights

During the webinar, the team introduced our strategic aims, which guide all our workstreams. These are:

  • Perform: Establish RECCo as a trusted, expert provider and enabler of code management and services.
  • Protect: Safeguard consumers’ interests and data by delivering secure, retail-focused digital services.
  • Progress: Drive solutions and innovations to support an effective retail market now and in the future.

Six Key Programmes for 2025-26

This year, we will focus on the following six key programmes:

  1. REC Services & Evolution: Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of REC services.
  2. Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement: Supporting the transition to more accurate energy settlement.
  3. Introducing a Dedicated Energy Theft Unit: Strengthening efforts to combat energy theft.
  4. Code Reform and Licence: Streamlining governance processes and regulatory compliance.
  5. Consumer Consent: Improving transparency and consumer control over their data. (Subject to Ofgem decision)
  6. Smart Secure Electricity Systems: Supporting the development of secure, smart energy solutions. (Subject to DESNZ decision)

Throughout the webinar, we asked for stakeholder feedback, and we are pleased to report that 96% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with our planned priorities for delivering service excellence. Overall, the webinar was rated 4.6 out of 5.
