The REC Board will soon begin the search for a new Chair as Chris Anastasi completes his second and final term in March 2025. After six years of dedicated service, Chris leaves a legacy of strong governance and strategic leadership.
Throughout his tenure, Chris has played a pivotal role in steering the REC Board through a significant transformation. His leadership was central to strengthening the Board’s oversight and governance.
As Chair of RECCo, Chris has played a key role in delivering significant change to the retail energy market’s governance arrangements, with RECCo serving as guardian of the Retail Energy Code (REC). Chris has provided leadership to the Board and has supervised the development of RECCo from the beginning. This includes implementing Code Manager Services, integrating Ofgem’s faster and more reliable switching arrangements into the REC, and successfully launching the Market Stabilisation Charge and Prepayment Levelisation schemes.
