Update on our Third-Party Intermediary Code of Practice

In October 2023, we published our voluntary Third-Party Intermediary Code of Practice (CoP) for non-domestic energy brokers and aggregators.

At this time, we committed to introducing an accreditation and audit framework. Subject to the necessary change proposal being accepted by Ofgem, this will make it mandatory for non-domestic suppliers to use only intermediaries adhering to the Code in the future.

How will we make the Code of Practice mandatory?

We are hosting a webinar on the 12th of March, where we will update stakeholders on our thinking and present the key considerations that have informed our approach.

Subject to feedback, the material discussed at the webinar will feed into REC Change Proposal R0137, which the REC Code Manager will further develop. The webinar will also allow those unfamiliar with the REC change process to hear from the Code Manager on the next steps and how they can engage with the change process.

Stakeholder feedback is important to us.  The webinar will include a Q&A panel at the end of the event to answer your immediate questions, though there will be further consultations as the proposals develop.

Please register here if you would like to join us from 10 am to 11:30 am on the 12th of March.
