The Gas Enquiry Service has successfully transitioned to a new platform

In 2023, RECCo embarked on a transformative project to enhance the Gas Enquiry Service (GES). Partnering with service providers Correla and Xoserve, this project has now concluded and substantially reduced the annual cost of delivering the GES.

A more efficient and resilient service

We’re delighted to announce that the GES platform is now live after months of dedicated work. This comprehensive upgrade has improved service efficiency and strengthened the GES infrastructure. With a new technical foundation built on a microservices architecture, the GES offers faster response times, increased system stability, and greater resilience. Users will experience the same seamless access to essential gas market data while the platform’s enhanced adaptability supports future demands on the system.

Thank you to Xoserve and Correla, who have ensured a smooth transition to the new platform without disrupting users. This successful collaboration highlights our commitment to delivering high-value services that balance cost efficiency with innovation.

Aligned with our Data and Digitalisation Strategy

This project goes beyond cost savings. The new technical architecture aligns with RECCo’s Data and Digitalisation Strategy, preparing the GES to support the UK’s net-zero energy transition. The microservices design enhances scalability and agility, equipping the GES to address future demands more effectively and contribute to a more sustainable energy landscape.
