Join the Stakeholder Advisory Group as we evolve the Code Manager

RECCo is now two years into live operations. As set out in our Draft Strategy and Forward Work Plan 2024-27, we have thoroughly assessed the performance and effectiveness of our Code Manager services. This was to ensure alignment with industry needs and to inform our future re-procurement strategy. Following this, we have initiated a continuous improvement programme across the Code Manager service over 2024/25. We are also considering the evolution of the service in the medium to long term based on stakeholder feedback.

Purpose of the Stakeholder Advisory Group

To support the Code Manager evolution project, we are establishing a Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG), a small group of industry stakeholders who provide informal advice to the project team. The primary function of the SAG will be to offer guidance, perspectives, and insights from experienced service users throughout the project lifecycle.

By establishing and engaging with stakeholders in this group, we aim to ensure that end-user views and needs are fully considered and integrated into our service evolution efforts.

What we’re looking for

We invite nominations from industry stakeholders for positions on the Stakeholder Advisory Group. Representation from REC Parties and users of the Code Manager Service is crucial, and we seek diverse perspectives to ensure comprehensive coverage. Nominations are specifically requested from:

  • Suppliers – at least 3 representatives (to ensure representation from gas and electricity, non-domestic and domestic, larger and smaller Suppliers);
  • Network Parties – at least 2 representatives (1 Distribution Network Operator and 1 Gas Transporter);
  • Metering Equipment Managers – at least 1 representative.

We may include members from non-REC party Service Users and independent SMEs to ensure full representation of all Service Users.

The group will meet every month for virtual meetings lasting 2 hours for an initial period of 6 months. Where necessary, extended meetings or extraordinary meetings may also be scheduled. We are seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of REC governance and processes
  • Direct experience of interacting with the Code Manager service
  • Ability to act independently from the commercial interests of their respective organisations, especially when such interests might conflict with the demands and requirements of the market;
  • Willingness to treat all information confidentially and sign a confidentiality agreement;
  • Wholly independent of, with no conflict of interest with, current Service Providers and/or potential bidders for potential future procurements.

If you’re interested in joining the SAG and contributing to the future of the REC Code Manager service, please submit your nomination using the form below by 20th March 2024.

Submit your nomination

*While all nominations received are appreciated, not all may be accepted depending on the nominees’ volume and breadth/depth of expertise.
